Sports memories from the community

Child's note reading The First time I went to a storm game

If you’ve had a chance to visit our Sports Guelph Played exhibition, you may have noticed the interactive Sports Memories Wall.  The exhibition explores many interesting stories about Guelph’s famous teams and players, controversy and scandal. But with such a long and rich sporting history, we know there are many untold stories. Visitors can share these stories by posting their recollections on the Sports Memories Wall.

The Sports Memories Wall is already filling up. Here are a few of the special memories shared so far:

“Winning the OMHA’s for Guelph when I was 13!”

“Selling hockey programs outside at Memorial Gardens when I was 5 years old.”

“When I was a kid, I used to help out at the Billy Taylor Thanksgiving Day runs handing out water to the runners. It was so much fun cheering everyone on.”

“The first time I went to a Storm game!”

“Participating in swim meets at Victor Davis Pool.”

Explore the Sports Guelph Played exhibition until April 20, 2016. Share your favourite story with a note on the Sports Memories Wall, or by using #GuelphStories.
