Reminder: Call for Artists – Remembering “In Flanders Fields” Art Show Exhibition

Commemorative Juried Art Show at the Guelph Civic Museum

Attention all artists! Guelph Civic Museum is pleased to announce a call for an In Flanders FieldsCentennial Commemoration Art Exhibit. This juried show will be installed in the third floor temporary gallery of the Guelph Civic Museum, where it will be on display throughout the Spring and Summer of 2015.

This is a great opportunity to have your work seen by hundreds of museum visitors, and convey your impressions, reflections, and response to this iconic poem and its author John McCrae.

Eligibility

This opportunity is open to residents of the City of Guelph and Wellington County who produce two and three-dimensional works in any media, including painting, drawing, photography, mixed media, fiber, textiles, jewellery, sculpture and pottery. A maximum of two original artworks may be submitted by each artist: submissions exceeding two works will not be considered.

Works for this call must address the theme of Remembering In Flanders Fields, must be ready for hanging, and must fit through a 6.5ft by 4ft entrance. Any technical needs for works must be provided by the artist.

Submission and Jurying Process

Submission should include the following information:

Title, Artist Name, Dimensions (with frame), Media, City, Phone, Email

Attach an excellent quality .JPG image file titled as follows: Artist Name, Piece Name.jpg
Submit your application to Guelph Civic Museum at [email protected]

All applications must be received by the Guelph Civic Museum no later than Sunday, March 1st 2015 at 11:59pm. Late submissions will not be considered. Participating artists will be notified of their selection by phone March 16th. Selected works are to be delivered to the Guelph Civic Museum March 24th between 10am and 5pm or by arrangement with Guelph Civic Museum. Following the exhibition, works must be picked up on Monday, August 10th or by arrangement with Guelph Civic Museum.

Selected artists will receive an exhibition fee of $131 CAD and an invitation to an exhibition reception at the museum on Friday, March 27th 2015.
