In Conversation with artists from View From the Hill and Other Scenes
Guelph, ON, January 28, 2014: When admiring a painting do you wonder about the decisions involved in creating art? On Thursday, February 6 at 7 pm, join artists from the current exhibition View From the Hill and Other Scenes as they discuss and demonstrate some of the thinking involved in the creation of the works in the exhibition.
For the past year and a half, local artists Scott Abbott, Laura Coutts, Leslie Miles, Janet Ollers and Kathleen Schmalz, have been traveling about Guelph, setting up their easels and painting en plein air. Known as colourful characters to some, they stand in paint-stained coats, through all seasons, painting views of the streets, churches, rivers and bridges of Guelph.
This evening session is appropriate for high school and university students and adults interested in the artistic process. Admission by donation.
View from the Hill and Beyond runs until April 6, 2014.
