Harpist Kingsbury plays first Fourth Friday concert of the summer

May 14, 2015, GUELPH, ON: On Friday, May 22, harpist Shannon Kingsbury will play a free concert at the Guelph Civic Museum as part of the museum’s Fourth Fridays concert series.

Kingsbury is a singer-songwriter based out of Guelph, Ontario. Her debut album, LuminoCity, was praised by critics and music fans alike. The Huffington Post describes it as “a world-minded collection of folksy tales surrounded by harp.”

Admission to the Civic Museum is free after 5 pm on Fourth Fridays, and visitors have the opportunity to explore all permanent and temporary exhibits.

Currently, the Guelph Civic Museum is hosting two exhibitions focused on remembrance as part of the yearlong commemoration of the writing of In Flanders Fields. Ordinary Lives, Extraordinary Times explores the experiences of Italian Canadians following Italy’s entry into the Second World War. Remembering In Flanders Fields is a juried art show featuring works by local artists and inspired by John McCrae’s poem.

Kingsbury will perform at 7:00 pm and 8:00 pm.

Guelph Civic Museum is located at 52 Norfolk St.
