Guelph Museums Hosts Two Lectures on the First World War

GUELPH, ON, Friday, October 7, 2014 – Guelph Museums, in partnership with the Laurier Centre for Military, Strategic and Disarmament Studies, is set to host two lectures on the First World War as part of our annual Military Lecture Series.

On Thursday October 16, Dr. Geoff Hayes, associate professor of history at the University of Waterloo, will speak on, World War One: the Opening Salvos. On Thursday November 20th, Mike Bechtold, professor at the Laurier Centre for Military Strategic and Disarmament Studies, will speak on, Trench Strafing, Tactical Bombing and Isolating the Battlefield: The Battle of Amiens and the Royal Air Force, August 1918.

Both talks will be held at the Guelph Civic Museum at will start at 7 PM. Admission for the lectures is by donation.
