Fourth Fridays Fun with Much More Munsch, the Funky Mamas and more at Guelph Civic Museum
Guelph, ON, May 18, 2014 –Fourth Fridays at Guelph Civic Museum has lots to offer this April 25. The spirited and lively music of The Funky Mamas will start off festivities at 6:45 pm, followed at 7:15 pm with official opening remarks for three new exhibits: Much More Munsch, Hands and Hearts: The Women of the Guelph General Hospital’s School of Nursing and Childhood Reverie.
Much More Munsch invites visitors to explore the art of storytelling, culture and literacy through the works of a Canadian icon of children’s fiction. Great interactive displays enable visitors to become active participants in Robert Munsch’s stories. Lots of activities and events are planned for the upcoming months! Runs until November 9.
Hands and Hearts: The Women of the Guelph General Hospital’s School of Nursing explores the history of the Guelph General Hospital School of Nursing from 1888, when the school was first established until its final graduation in 1974. Runs until September 28.
Childhood Reverie highlights artwork by Marnie Dallan, Vince Wall, Barbara Cohen andGrazyna Adamska-Jarecka. This Wall of Art exhibition is a partnership between Guelph Museums and the Guelph Arts Council and is a quarterly juried show that is open to residents of Guelph and members of the GAC who produce two-dimensional work in any media. Runs until June 29.
