Celebrating Culture Days and Fourth Fridays at Guelph Civic Museum with a Kitchen Party Ceili
Thursday, September 19, 2013, Guelph, ON: Kick up your heels to some cracking jigs and reels at the Kitchen Party Ceili Friday, September 27 at Guelph Civic Museum. You are invited to join us in celebrating the traditions of Irish and Scottish music & dance, and the Tenth Anniversary of Riverside Celtic College!
Celtic Academy warms up the evening with Irish dance demonstrations at 7:00 pm. Riverside Celtic College kicks the party into full gear at 8:00 pm with live music by Kitchen Party Trio and ceili dancing with caller Kari Kokko.
Kitchen Party Trio features Cape Breton fiddler Dan MacDonald, Irish banjo/guitar player Brian Taheny and bodhran player Jacob McCauley. With special guests: Irish Flute player Daev Clyesdale and RCC’s Founder/Director, fiddler Eva McCauley.The Kitchen Party Ceili is made possible by the generosity of the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
Riverside Celtic College, now celebrating its tenth year, offers courses in traditional Irish and Scottish music, language and dance. They will be offering evening classes at Guelph Civic Museum starting in October.
Guelph Civic Museum is located at 52 Norfolk Street, Guelph. For Fourth Fridays, Museum hours are extended from 5:00 to 10:00 pm and admission is free.
