Call for submissions- Wall of Art: From Coast to Coast to Coast
Wall of Art: Coast to Coast to Coast
Deadline: November 28, 2016
The Guelph Civic Museum, Guelph Arts Council and the City of Guelph are pleased to present the “Wall of Art” juried exhibition series, featuring excellent artists from Guelph Arts Council’s membership. This exciting series aims to showcase the breadth of local talent that we have here in Guelph as well as provide artists with a unique opportunity to share their work with a larger audience.
For the upcoming exhibition, we invite artists to explore their interpretation of the theme From Coast to Coast to Coast. As we celebrate the 150th anniversary of Confederation we reflect on this vast country we call home. What does Canada mean to you? What does it mean to be Canadian? We can’t wait to see what our local artists have in store for From Coast to Coast to Coast.
This opportunity is open to artists living and practicing in Guelph, as well as members of the Guelph Arts Council*, who produce two-dimensional work in any medium, including painting, drawing, photography, mixed media and fiber. A maximum of two original artworks may be submitted by each artist: submissions exceeding two works will not be considered. Works for this call must address the theme. All works must be ready for hanging, not be excessively heavy, and must be able to fit through an entrance of 6.5 ft. by 4 ft. Any technical needs for works must be provided by the artist.
*An artist membership for a year is only $30 (which is less than most entry fees). Membership is not juried; everyone is welcome. Plus, you get all the other benefits that come with being a Guelph Arts Council member… come join us and see!
Selected artists will receive an exhibition fee of $139 CAD and an invitation to an exhibition reception at the museum on Friday, October 28, 6:30 p.m. No need to email your application with attachments. Instead, please submit online through our handy form! Or, download or pick up a paper form from our office.
