“Playing the Pipes” celebrates the whimsical animals and creatures pictured playing bagpipes in the margins of medieval manuscripts. Paint a small image adapted from medieval illuminations, using real gold leaf, watercolour, and ink.
A visceral performance centered around the Battle of Vimy Ridge, Ridge probes difficult but necessary questions about how and why we grieve. Through storytelling, theatre, and live music, the production examines misconceptions and varying perspectives about the battle, while drawing parallels to other formative events in Canada’s past.
