Fourth Friday: Justin Reid – The Sound of My Voice

Join us for a captivating evening of culture and art! Enjoy free admission to the museum after 5pm and experience the engaging exhibitions, the fun Families Gallery and our featured Fourth Friday performance. This Fourth Friday we will celebrate the opening of “Folklore: Being and Belonging in the Grand River Region, before and after 1827.”

Prepare to be moved by the rhythmic cadence and profound words of spoken word artist Justin Reid in “The Sound of My Voice.” Reid invites you on a transformative journey exploring self-discovery, life’s challenges, health, love, awareness, wealth, and the profound connections that bind us all. His unique blend of traditional poetry and spoken word promises to deliver a dynamic and engaging experience, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of the audience.

Every Fourth Friday of the month enjoy free admission to the Civic Museum from 5 to 9 pm and  a free performance starting at 7 pm. Cash bar. NOTE: Preregistration is not required. 

About The Artist

Reid is a local spoken word artist and activist that intertwines the power of words with a passion for social change.

Reid’s poetic voice has resonated on diverse platforms, from TedXGuelph and RogersTv showcasing his ability to merge advocacy and creativity. His presence extends beyond the stage, as a level ll cannabis sommelier he has been featured on Business of Cannabis and Diversity Talks, specifically addressing ‘Black Canadians in cannabis. Grounded in a background of community development, Reid is not only an educator but also a champion for environmental and social justice, using his verses to amplify important narratives.
