To commemorate Canada’s sesquicentennial and Guelph’s 190th anniversary, Guelph Museums and the University of Guelph have teamed up to present This Day in Guelph, Ontario, Canada History – Old news gets a modern twist as we revisit news stories from the past 150 years.


February 10, 1992

“Family’s love of music spans the generations.” The Guelph Mercury reported Ariel Dyer’s music filled 80th birthday and shared how the love of music has connected four generation of the Dyer family. Prior to the turn of the century, the Dyer family was well known for their dance band.
