Extra! Extra! Read all about it! Summer exhibitions launch at Guelph Civic Museum
GUELPH, ON, May 23, 2019 – Two newspaper-themed exhibitions are set to open on Saturday, June 1 at Guelph Civic Museum.
Guelph’s storied past is recounted through ‘B&W And Read All Over’, which traces the history of The Guelph Mercury, this city’s daily printed newspaper that reported the local, national and international news to our community from 1854 to 2016.
What “makes” the front page? The Dailies explores the history of headline news, the form and function of the front page in news making, and the use of photographs and illustrations to tell the story of a thousand words.
A preview reception is set for Friday, May 31 with opening remarks at 6:30 p.m., followed by Fifth Friday Pub Night, a free evening of beer trivia and more hosted by Queen of Craft.
Doors open at 5 p.m. Cash bar.
Guelph Civic Museum is located at 52 Norfolk Street.
