The Grizzlies Film Screening & We Matter Presentation has been postponed, date TBD.
Calling all youth between the ages of 12 and 26! Join us at The eBar for a viewing of the film The Grizzlies. Please note, The eBar is located on the second floor and is fully accessible.
The Grizzlies is an inspiring true story based on a group of Inuit students in the small Arctic town of Kugluktuk. Suffering from widespread drug use, alcohol abuse, domestic violence and one of the highest teen suicide rates in the world, this northern community is periled by the legacy of colonialism. A group of Inuit students’ lives are transformed when they are introduced to the sport of lacrosse.
This event is aimed for youth, 12 to 26 years old. Please reserve guardian admission only for parents or guardians accompanying a youth ticket holder.
Following the film, a We Matter Ambassador of Hope will facilitate a discussion and activity to support hope, culture and strength of Indigenous youth. We Matter is an Indigenous youth-led and nationally registered non-profit organization committed to Indigenous youth support, hope and life promotion. Light refreshments will be provided.
